Legal Works Nordic AB was founded in 2016, based on the insight that the existing market for business law did not fully meet clients’ needs for flexible legal services. The two founders, Leif Frykman and Ulf Lindén, both have extensive experience as in-house counsel in senior roles. Through their careers, they had repeatedly encountered a lack of suitable alternatives when sourcing external legal services. They identified a clear gap between in-house legal teams and traditional law firms. The idea behind Legal Works was therefore to create a new type of legal service provider—combining the business-oriented approach of in-house counsel with the flexibility and scalability of consulting services – and always with customer value in focus.
Legal Works Nordic AB is founded by Ulf Lindén and Leif Frykman with a focus on offering talent and services to inhouse legal departments.
A new data privacy business is established together with a team of senior advisors, PrivacyWorks. DP Academy, the leading training program for Data Privacy Officers, is created together with Forum för dataskydd.
The legal advisory business is formed under the brand name ”LW Advisory”. LW Advisory becomes a trusted legal advisor to the tech and life sciences industry in Sweden. LegalWorks is awarded a grant from Vinnova to develop a share ledger tool based on blockchain.
A new platform business is created under the brandname ”Legalbuddy”, an online tool for legal support for start-ups and entreprenuers.
LegalWorks forms a joint venture with Chromaway AB regarding the blockchain based share ledger subsequently branded ”Kvanta”.
LW Advisory is increasingly supporting the start-up and scale-up community in Sweden. Legalbuddy launches the premium version.
LegalWorks expands its corporate law and M&A team.
